Conference Summary, Machine Learning and Data Mining, Who is Who?

Dear Data Miners and Scientists: We are proud to bring to you the 7th ICDM, the 5th MLDM and the highly intellectual Workshops and Tutorials session. Most of the conferences range from being highly academic, without any relevance to real live issues, to highly sales oriented where software and consulting companies are providing already known content in a very entertaining way. We are, however, proud that the ICDM and MLDM are recognized as being among the few leading conferences in the field of data mining.

These conferences have a clear applied profile and we stay relevant without loosing touch with the latest results and ideas fresh out of the universities and research institutes. Time is valuable and so is the information that you, your colleagues, managers, and decision-maker may be researching for. Therefore, we have compiled a new, one of a kind compact publication on this jointly organized conference the Conference Summary . This new publication line, beginning with the ICDM and MLDM conference, will provide and overview of the themes and major results of the conference sessions, workshops and the poster session.
